Attendance at the San Miguel Writers’ Conference, as a Basic, Full, or Whole Enchilada participant, gives you the extraordinary opportunity to present your book project to a literary agent in a one-on-one conversation. If you have ever tried to interest an agent by sending a query letter, you know that sitting face to face with an agent is a fairly rare event.
Agent Pitch sessions will be held during the following dates and times:
February 16, 17, 19 from 3:45 to 6:00 p.m.
This year, we are offering conference attendees the opportunity to practice your pitch! “Perfect Pitch: How to Successfully Pitch Your Project to an Agent in Fifteen Minutes” with Louisa Rogers, will be held during concurrent workshop session #210 on Thursday morning at 9:00 AM. If you can attend this workshop, you will be able to meet an agent with additional confidence and savvy.
More info about “Perfect Pitch” can be found HERE.
Before you register, please read our Guidelines for Your Agent Pitch Session. You will learn what you need to be ready for a pitch session and what you need to know ahead of time.
Each Agent Pitch Session is fifteen minutes and costs $25 USD. Pitch sessions are not included in any of the Conference packages, and each person is limited to two agent pitch sessions.
In your email tell her which agent(s) you would like to pitch to. Maria will check the availability of each agent, and write you back with a possible time and date for your agent pitch session(s). This time and date will be marked as “pending confirmation of purchase.”
These are the agents who will be attending the Conference this year and who are available for appointments. Be careful to select the agent or agents who are most likely have an interest in your particular project.
