Ivan Rios Gascon is a writer, an editor, and a journalist. He is the author of the novels Luz Estéril (selected by Nexos magazine as one of the top hundred books of Mexican literature), Tu imagen en el viento and Broadway Express, the book of essays El cine de Carlos Fuentes, and the book of poems Espacios liminares. He was a producer, scriptwriter and announcer at Rock101 and has collaborated with Excélsior, Reforma, La Jornada, El Universal and Rolling Stone. He is a columnist and editor of the cultural supplement Labyrinth, Milenio Diario, and contributor at Nexos magazine.
Rios Gascon is also an essayist and translator; his narrative work is characterized by eroticism and a deep exploration of the human condition. He lived in Brooklyn as a resident artist at the Writers Room in New York City. He holds a degree in journalism from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where he also taught. Currently, he teaches classes at the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Museum of Memory and Tolerance.
