Airports
Two airports serve San Miguel. Both are about two hours from San Miguel via convenient airport shuttles (see below.)
- Leon/Guanajuato (Airport code: BJX)
- Querétaro (Airport code: QRO)
There are convenient connections to these airports from Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Diego, and Tijuana. (From the San Diego airport, you may shuttle to the Tijuana Airport bridge and walk into Mexico quickly and easily, right into the Tijuana airport.) Volaris Airlines operates direct non-stop flights to both of our airports from Los Angeles, San Jose, Oakland, and Sacramento. If you are in California, these are the most direct and least expensive flights.
From Mexico City: Sometimes you may obtain a more direct or less expensive flight from Mexico City (Airport code: MEX). From there, you may bus to San Miguel on a luxury bus, about four hours. You may have to change buses in Querétaro. The same shuttle service mentioned below will meet you at the airport, pre-buy your bus tickets, and guide you to the bus. If you prefer to manage the bus on your own, go directly to the Primera Plus bus station right at the airport. Buses depart for Querétaro every half hour. From Querétaro, there are buses or taxis to San Miguel, about one hour.

Before calling or going online, you will need all your flight information AND the address of your accommodations in San Miguel.
When you receive your confirmation e-mail, NOTE that your confirmation number is located only in the subject line, not in the body of the e-mail. Make a note of your confirmation number.
When you arrive at the airport, after going through customs, a driver will meet you with a sign with your name on it. The drivers usually wait at the back of the crowd, near the doors. Think about using the restroom before you board the shuttle; it’s about a two-hour ride. If you did not pre-pay on line, the driver will accept U.S. dollars or pesos.
