Description
A scene between two characters seated at a dinner table can have the tension of a high-speed car chase. How? By what we show readers, when we show them, and perhaps most importantly, by what readers never see.
In this workshop, we’ll learn how to master the art of timing—of what the reader sees and when—which can make a slow scene boil with tension. We’ll use a selection of scene examples to show the power of timing.
If possible, bring a scene you are working on, or a scene idea, so we can practice this new skill on works in progress.
