BILINGUAL Teen Writing Workshop | Comics and Graphic Novels

Description

Isis Rodríguez has over 20 years experience in comics and graphic novels. She will be giving a workshop in the creation of meta-types and avatars with the theme of “nepantla”. Nepantla is a Nahua word that means “in the middle of things,” and will be referencing this word with conflict and resolution.

Isis will give a brief history of nepantla, meta-types and avatars. Examples of meta-types and avatars will be given to student where they will create their own interpretations. History and samples of typography and words will be introduced so that students can blend their meta-types and avatars with creative and unique letters and phrases to create imaginative pages of a comic.
