Alejandro Magallanes

Alejandro Magallanes (Mexico City) is a renowned designer, visual artist, and poet. With over three decades of experience in editorial and graphic design, he has created thousands of printed works, consolidating an essential visual language in today’s cultural scene. Since 2004, he has been a member of the prestigious Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) and has served as a university professor for over twenty years.

Alongside his teaching and interactive practice, he boasts more than fifteen years of professional development as a visual artist and sixteen years of poetic creation. He is the author of over fourteen books, notably including his fifth poetry collection, X, Y y Z (Almadía, 2022), as well as recent publications such as Las letras son dibujos (Reservoir Books, 2022), No soy yo pero me parezco, Soy yo pero no me parezco (Vestalia, 2023), No me voy a ir (RM, 2023), and El orden del caos (Hoaki Books, 2025).

His work in the visual arts has led him to participate in both solo and collective exhibitions; his most recent exhibition, La paradoja del objeto y la cosa, opened at the Le Laboratoire gallery in 2024. Throughout his prolific career, his work has been recognized with various national and international awards, taking him around the world to share his multidisciplinary vision of art, design, and literature.
