Spotlight Presenter

Rafael Segovia

Mexican poet, writer and translator Rafael Segovia was raised in Mexico City in a world of writers and artists in which it was natural for him to express himself not just through writing but through multiple media. That experience has led him to move through music, theater, poetry, essays and literary translation, alongside work as an activist supporting cultural rights.

His work has been recognized by important Mexican prizes and by residencies in France and elsewhere in Europe, most recently in Switzerland at Château Lavigny.

His poetry collections Travesía de la Noche and Doble Espejo have been recently published in Mexico. A former cultural attaché in Montreal, Segovia is currently a communications officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).
