Tim Wynne-Jones

Tim Wynne-Jones has written three adult novels, three middle-grade and nine young adult novels, four short story collections and a plethora of picture books. His novel, ODD’S END, won The Seal First Novel Award and was later made into a movie in France (The House that Mary Bought), THE KNOT was short-listed for the City of Toronto Book Award; his collection of short stories, SOME OF THE KINDER PLANETS, won the Governor General’s Award as well as the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award. THE MAESTRO won Tim his second Governor General’s Award and was short-listed for the Guardian Prize in the UK. THE BOY IN THE BURNING HOUSE won the Edgar Award in the USA and the Arthur Ellis Award in Canada and was short-listed for the Guardian Prize. BLINK & CAUTION won another “Arthur” as well as Tim’s second Horn Book Award.

In 2012, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. He is married to the writer Amanda West Lewis, with whom he shares three grown-up children and six grandchildren. He and Amanda live on seventy-six acres of woodland in Eastern Ontario.
