About This Workshop

You know you have a vital story to tell — one that would not only liberate you from its vice grip, but could be cathartic for readers as well. The problem: you fear your family would never forgive you for telling it. What to do? In this workshop, we will explore the options, first by reviewing prominent case studies in contemporary memoir; and then, by carefully considering the ethical and logistical ramifications of the various paths forward. By the end, you will have a stronger sense of whether to change key details, draw up a legal waiver, and/or call a lawyer.
